2014 MINI Cooper price jumps to $20,745

The 2014 MINI Cooper will cost you $250 more than last years model, coming in with an MSRP of $19,950 plus $795 destination charge.

With its turbocharged three-cylinder engine, the Cooper makes 134 horsepower, while buyers looking for more power will be treated to the turbocharged four-cylinder equipped Cooper S. The Cooper S costs $300 more than its predecessor at $24,395 and features 189 hp.

While exterior styling hasn’t changed much, the Cooper has seen some significant changes with the interior, removing the large central speedometer, and replacing it with an 8.8-inch display.

Both cars are available with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions, and feature an emphasis on fuel efficiency thanks to start-stop technology and light-weight construction.

Despite the weight-savings, the 2014 MINI Cooper has grown in length by 4.5 inches, allowing for more interior passenger space. It’s also 1.7-inches wider and 0.3 inches taller. Cargo room has increased as well, with three extra cubic feet of trunk space for a total of 8.7.

Many new high-tech options are available to the 2014 MINI including a heads-up display, camera-based active cruise control, high beam assist, a rearview camera as well as collision and pedestrian warning.
